Revenue Accountant Lead

Hi there!

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join one of our U.S. Fintech clients. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing global revenue accounting operations, including revenue recognition, billing, accounts receivable, cash application, and revenue-related financial reporting.

The ideal candidate brings a strong command of revenue accounting principles and hands-on expertise in applying US GAAP to ensure full compliance with current accounting standards. This position reports directly to the Controller and plays a critical role in supporting accurate financial performance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant standards.
• Billing and Invoicing: Oversee the billing process, ensuring invoices are generated and sent to customers accurately and promptly.
• Accounts Receivable Management: Manage the accounts receivable process, including cash application, collections, and reconciliation of customer accounts.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze revenue-related financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Process Improvement: Lead efforts to streamline and improve revenue accounting processes, implementing best practices and automation where possible.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Revenue & Commissions and Finance Team members to ensure alignment and accuracy in revenue reporting.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
•  Audit Support: Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation andexplanations as required.
• Integration Activities: Participate in acquisition due diligence and post-merger integration activities, including reviewing financial statements and integrating financial systems.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field is required. A Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue accounting or a closely related to the occupation.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of Sage Intacct, Excel, and Salesforce.
• Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills.
• Knowledge: Understanding of tax, audit, and GAAP applications and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
