JobType: full-time

The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of large-scale, national health data platforms. This role focuses on building secure, interoperable architectures for disease registries, population-level screening programs, and foundational healthcare registries. A core aspect of the role is ensuring seamless health data interoperability using HL7 FHIR standards and enabling secure, high-volume health information exchange.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

System Architecture & Design

  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance repositories for national disease registries (e.g., Cancer, Diabetes, CKD) and longitudinal screening programs.
  • Define system architectures that support large-scale population health data and long-term clinical data storage.

Interoperability & Standards Leadership

  • Lead the definition and adoption of HL7 FHIR (R4/R5) profiles, implementation guides, and RESTful APIs for interoperable data exchange.
  • Ensure consistent use of healthcare interoperability standards across systems and stakeholders.

Foundational Registry Architecture

  • Architect core healthcare registries, including:
    • Patient / Client Registry (MPI)
    • Health Provider Registry
    • Master Facility List and Services Registry
  • Ensure accurate identity management and unique identification across the health ecosystem.

Data Modeling & Transformation

  • Map and transform legacy clinical data formats into standardized FHIR resources.
  • Enable cross-platform and cross-system data exchange through standardized data models.

Security, Privacy & Compliance

  • Embed Privacy by Design principles across all architectures.
  • Ensure compliance with national health data regulations and global standards (e.g., HIPAA/GDPR equivalents).
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and encryption standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the technical interface between public health authorities, clinical subject matter experts, and engineering teams.
  • Translate policy, regulatory, and clinical requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Architecture Governance & Documentation

  • Produce and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including system diagrams, standards, and integration specifications.
  • Deliver complete architecture blueprints covering end-to-end system design.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Healthcare Interoperability Standards: Deep expertise in HL7 FHIR (R4/R5), HL7 v2, and DICOM.
  • Clinical Terminologies: Strong experience integrating SNOMED-CT, LOINC, and ICD-10/11.
  • Architecture Frameworks: Hands-on experience with TOGAF, IndEA, or similar enterprise architecture frameworks; strong understanding of Health Information Exchange (HIE) patterns.
  • Infrastructure: Solid experience designing and implementing on-premise architectures.
  • Data Engineering: Familiarity with big data technologies for population health analytics and longitudinal data processing.

Experience Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software or solution architecture, with at least 3+ years in digital health or healthcare platforms.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale data platforms or national-level e-health initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing population screening programs (e.g., cancer screening, newborn screening) with complex workflow tracking requirements.
