HALO are seeking to recruit a Weapons and Ammunition Management Project Manager (WAM PjM) who will oversee and manage the implementation of a €3.5m NATO project to refurbish 47 armouries in three locations in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) in a 21-month period. This project is the first of 5 phases of upgrades to provide safe storage of weapons and reduce the potential for proliferation of weapons across the region.
Applicants must have proven experience in project management, ideally within the Weapons and Ammunition Management sector. The WAM PjM is responsible for day-to-day management and delivery of project outputs, and is the main focal point for stakeholder engagement. Leading a team of 6 national staff, calling upon support from HALO Global Specialists and WAM Programme Manager's (Regional), they must ensure that contractual obligations are met and that project activities are conducted in the safest and most efficient manner possible, particularly in accordance with international standards, HALO’s SOPs, regulations and policies, as well as local law.
The WAM PjM will be based in Sarajevo but will be required to travel around BiH and potentially the wider region as needed. The Preparatory Phase will also include an evaluation of the BiH Template Armoury (built by international partners in conjunction with Moldova military design engineers) and the reassessment and prioritisation in each location. The preparatory phase will be followed by two phases of refurbishment, the first in Rajlovac (Sarajevo) and the second in Banja Luka and Capljina.
