Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer who excels at bridging development, testing, and operations. In this role, you’ll design and maintain cloud infrastructure, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and support mission‑critical systems that power Juvare’s global resilience solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments.

Location: Atlanta, Fort Wayne, Pittsburgh, OR Remote

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to cloud platform projects, including architecture design, implementation, and documentation for new features and services.
  • Maintain and enhance our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on Terraform for cloud provisioning and management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, lab, and production environments.
  • Respond to incidents promptly and lead root‑cause analysis efforts.
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot applications running in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Perform patching, updates, and ongoing maintenance of cloud systems.
  • Build cloud platform components and integrate applications with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
  • Develop cloud‑agnostic infrastructure using containers and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to solve complex issues, design new solutions, and support production deployments.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation supporting critical systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer role preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Expert‑level proficiency with Terraform and deep understanding of Platform‑as‑Code and Configuration‑as‑Code principles.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Advanced hands‑on experience with AWS services, including:
    • ECS Fargate
    • Lambda
    • CloudFront
    • AWS WAF
    • VPC
    • RDS Aurora
    • API Gateway
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
    • Virtual Machines
    • Azure Storage (Blob, File, Disk)
    • VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN Gateways
    • Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
    • Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights
  • Solid experience with GitLab or comparable CI/CD tools.
  • Advanced database management and tuning skills.
  • Strong understanding of 3‑tier architectures, DNS, and core networking concepts.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application delivery.
  • Scripting experience in Bash and Python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, RCA).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
  • Comfortable collaborating across teams and working in fast‑moving environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Additional Information:

This position requires access to information that is controlled by the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
