At Shiftmove, we’re building the next generation of connected mobility solutions that help businesses operate smarter and more efficiently. Over the past years, we’ve grown rapidly through organic growth and acquisitions, and with that, our internal IT landscape has become more complex.

Today, we support 500+ employees across multiple countries, office locations and tool ecosystems (Google Workspace and Microsoft 365). To take us into the next phase of growth, we’re looking for a Head of IT Operations to take full ownership of Corporate IT, bring clarity and structure, and build a scalable, secure and high-quality IT setup for the entire organisation.

This role comes with end-to-end responsibility: strategic direction, operational excellence, and execution of Corporate IT security foundations.

Your role

As Head of IT Operations, you will own and evolve shiftmoves corporate IT function in a fast-growing, post M&A environment. You will lead a distributed team, set clear priorities and ensure our IT setup enables the business while meeting the standards of reliability, security and employee experience.

This role is not purely managerial. You are comfortable diving deep into problems yourself when needed, while also acting as a strategic leader and trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the company.

What you will do

  • Own and evolve the Corporate IT strategy and operating model for a growing, post M&A organisation
  • Lead, develop and scale a distributed IT team across Germany and France, including evolving the team structure and model toward a sustainable long-term setup
  • Drive the integration and harmonisation of tools, systems and processes across acquired entities
  • Own end-to-end Corporate IT operations, including identity & access management, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, endpoint and device management, office IT and the internal helpdesk
  • Own and execute Corporate IT security fundamentals (identity, access, endpoint security, device hardening and IT policies), partnering with Engineering and external experts on more advanced topics
  • Improve reliability and scalability through automation, documentation and self-service
  • Own IT vendor management, contracts and budget planning, and act as a trusted advisor to leadership on risks, trade-offs and priorities

What does success look like?

6 months

  • A clear, prioritised roadmap for Corporate IT is defined and actively executed, including Google Workspace vs. Microsoft 365 decisions
  • Core tooling, access and onboarding/offboarding processes are largely harmonised across the organisation
  • Corporate IT security fundamentals are owned, documented and consistently applied, even if not yet fully mature
  • Stakeholders rely on IT to make and execute decisions without escalation

What you’ll bring

  • Several years of experience in IT Operations / Workplace IT, including people leadership (you will lead a global team of 5 in Germany and France)
  • You keep things simple while being pragmatic and balancing security, employee experience and scalability
  • Experience scaling IT in a fast-growing, international tech, SaaS or post-M&A environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, identity & access management, endpoint and device management (macOS & Windows) and modern SaaS tooling
  • Practical experience improving endpoint, access and workplace security in an environment that was still maturing
  • Proven ability to automate IT processes (e.g. onboarding/offboarding, approvals, access provisioning)
  • Strong ownership mentality, you’re comfortable deciding, prioritising and executing
  • Fluent English (German and/or French is a strong plus)
