Customer Service & Operations Generalist

Job Description

Salary Range: $1200 - $1800 per month

Overview

We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused professional to support our self-storage operations. This role is ideal for a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills, solid technical aptitude, and the flexibility to assist across multiple areas of the business. In addition to handling customer calls, this position includes administrative and operational tasks during periods of lower call volume.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound phone calls and assist customers with:
    • Bill payments and payment processing
    • Explaining billing statements and account details
    • Resolving general customer inquiries related to self-storage facilities
  • Provide professional, friendly, and clear communication at all times
  • Accurately document customer interactions and updates in internal systems
  • Perform administrative and operational tasks during slower call periods, including:
    • Data entry
    • Working with Excel spreadsheets
    • General office and system-related tasks as needed
  • Support other departments or projects as assigned, based on skills and availability

Schedule

  • Primary schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. EST
  • Weekend availability (preferred):
    • Saturday & Sunday shifts from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. EST

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • North American accent or native-level English proficiency
  • Strong computer skills and comfort navigating software systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently
  • Professional phone presence and problem-solving mindset

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Experience with programming, CSS, or other technical skills
  • Previous experience in customer service, call center, or administrative roles

This role is best suited for a generalist—someone who enjoys customer interaction but is also comfortable switching gears to administrative or technical tasks. We value adaptable team members who bring additional skills and are eager to contribute across different areas of the company.

  • Client Relationship : You will be directly working with the client. This means that you will communicate with the client, provide services, and address any client-related matters independently.
  • Payments : All payments for your services will be handled by the client. Elevate and Delegate is not involved in processing your payroll. Your salary will directly go to you. 
  • Vacation Leaves and Holidays : While we may have recommendations or guidelines regarding vacation leaves and holidays, the decision is entirely at the discretion of the client. You are expected to align your schedule with the client’s business needs and any specific policies or preferences they may have in this regard.
