Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and technically accomplished Lead Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, integration, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems in a fully remote environment. The successful candidate will lead system architecture efforts, guide engineering teams, and ensure that system solutions meet performance, reliability, security, and scalability requirements.

This position is strictly limited to candidates who currently reside in the United States and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of system architectures and solutions

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to systems and engineering team members

Define system requirements, specifications, and interface control documents

Oversee system integration, testing, validation, and lifecycle management activities

Collaborate with software, hardware, security, and operations teams to ensure system alignment

Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies

Ensure systems comply with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and security policies

Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous system improvement

Prepare technical documentation, reports, and executive-level presentations

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred

Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in systems engineering or related technical roles

Demonstrated experience leading system architecture and engineering initiatives

Strong knowledge of system lifecycle management, integration, and validation processes

Experience with enterprise IT systems, cloud environments, and infrastructure architectures

Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications (INCOSE CSEP, CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect, or similar)

Experience in regulated industries such as defense, healthcare, or finance

Prior experience managing or mentoring engineering teams
