As JumpCloud continues its rapid international growth, we are seeking a strategic leader to serve as the Director of Engineering, Cloud Platform. This is a critical high impact role where you will own the vision and execution of our global infrastructure and developer experience.

You will lead an organization of managers and Principal-level individual contributors, driving the strategy for our next-generation platform. Your mandate is to enable faster, higher quality, and more cost-efficient software delivery across the entire engineering organization.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Spearhead the strategic roadmap for global infrastructure, IDP adoption, and regional expansion.
  • Cultivate a world-class engineering organization, mentoring senior leaders to foster technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Direct the cloud financial strategy, optimizing unit economics and driving cost predictability via advanced governance.
  • Instill operational excellence by eliminating toil through strategic automation and AI-driven workflows.
  • Drive developer velocity by implementing practices and strategies that drastically reduce change lead time.
  • Orchestrate stack modernization to eliminate technical debt.

  • We’re looking for:
  • 15+ years of engineering experience, with 4+ years at the Director level or equivalent, managing managers and overseeing organizations of 20+ engineers.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale cloud operations (AWS or GCP) in a distributed, microservices or cell-based environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing significant cloud budgets and driving cost-efficiency programs without sacrificing availability.
  • Ability to define long-term architectural visions (e.g., moving from monolith to decoupled services) and the leadership skills to rally the organization behind them.
  • You treat the Platform as a Product and focus on "Customer Satisfaction"
  • Familiarity with measuring success through metrics like DORA, Developer Satisfaction Scores, or service adoption rates.
  • Experience acting as an executive escalation point for major incidents, bringing calm and structured problem-solving to high-pressure situations.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with multi-cloud strategies and global region build-outs.
  • Background in modernizing legacy infrastructure (e.g., migrating to Kubernetes, adopting OpenTofu/Terraform).
  • Experience with high-scale networking, traffic engineering, or edge computing strategies.
