Scope of role:

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our web development team. You will build and maintain custom Shopify sections and theme components on the Dawn theme using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, scalable implementations. You will work with VS Code, Shopify CLI, and Git-based workflows, implement dynamic features using metafields and metaobjects, troubleshoot and optimize themes for reliability and performance, and collaborate across multiple client projects in a fast-paced agency environment.

The interview process includes an initial screening, followed by a live coding session where applicants share their screens and create a simple custom Shopify section, along with discussions on problem-solving, tradeoffs, and Shopify development experience.

Responsibilities:

• Build, extend, and maintain custom Shopify sections, blocks, and theme components on the Dawn theme using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Translate Figma designs into high-quality, performant Shopify implementations while balancing pixel accuracy with platform constraints
• Develop locally using VS Code and Shopify CLI within Git-based workflows
• Implement and manage dynamic storefront data using metafields and metaobjects
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize Shopify themes for performance, maintainability, and cross-browser compatibility
• Collaborate with designers and project managers across multiple client projects in a fast-paced agency environment
• Take ownership of features from implementation through delivery, including proactive communication of risks and tradeoffs
  
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience shipping and maintaining production Shopify themes
• Strong command of Shopify Liquid, section schema, and the Dawn theme architecture
• Solid frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with attention to detail and code quality
• Experience working with Git in team environments, including resolving merge conflicts
• Comfortable using Shopify CLI for local development and deployment
• Experience creating and consuming metafields and metaobjects
• Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to work autonomously in a high-velocity agency setting

Beneficial Experience/Skills:

• Experience with React, Tailwind, and modern browser standards like web components.
• Experience with GraphQL.
