Role Overview

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be the first point of contact for the sales team, responsible for generating and qualifying leads to support the sales pipeline. The SDR will focus on identifying and engaging potential clients, setting the stage for successful sales and contributing to overall business growth.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation:
    • Research and identify potential clients in the workplace safety and compliance sector.
    • Build targeted prospect lists using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, and CRM systems.
  • Outreach & Engagement:
    • Conduct high-volume cold outreach via email, phone calls, and LinkedIn to engage prospects.
    • Craft personalized messages that clearly communicate the company’s value proposition.
  • Lead Qualification:
    • Qualify inbound and outbound leads by understanding their challenges, needs, and fit for the company’s solutions.
    • Use discovery questions to assess potential clients' readiness for sales conversations.
  • Collaboration with Sales Team:
    • Work closely with the Account Executive team to smoothly transition qualified leads.
    • Provide detailed notes and context to ensure seamless handoffs.
  • CRM Management:
    • Keep accurate, up-to-date records of outreach, conversations, and lead status in the CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
    • Track key metrics and provide weekly reports on outreach effectiveness and pipeline growth.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyze outreach strategies and refine approaches based on performance data.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to better target prospects.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a sales development or similar role, ideally within SaaS or AI-driven industries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable making cold calls and engaging with senior-level decision-makers.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of workplace compliance or HR technology is a plus.
