MDC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equity and economic mobility in the southern United States, focusing particularly on racial and gender equity. For over 50 years, MDC has partnered with leaders, institutions, and communities to design and implement strategies that address systemic inequities in areas such as education, employment, and health. Their work includes research, analysis, and systems design to support community leaders and improve economic security and upward mobility. Through initiatives like Rural Prosperity and Investment and Equity Centered Leadership and Philanthropy, MDC seeks to create a more equitable South where all individuals and communities can thrive.
