About Heartland Alliance

Heartland Alliance is a nonprofit organization that addresses critical social issues in Chicago and beyond. It is the largest provider of healthcare to people experiencing homelessness, actively works to reduce gun violence by engaging and employing at-risk individuals, and offers essential support to refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants, including housing, torture treatment, job training, legal defense, and language instruction. The organization has restructured into four independent entities to ensure sustainability: Heartland Human Care Services, Heartland Alliance Health, Heartland Alliance International, and the National Immigrant Justice Center. Each entity focuses on specific areas such as healthcare for the homeless, immigrant services, international support for conflict-traumatized individuals, and legal advocacy for immigrant rights.
