About Code 2040

Code2040 is a Black-led, national nonprofit organization focused on fostering racial equity in the technology industry. Founded in 2012, the organization works to uplift Black and Latinx individuals in the innovation economy by providing programs, resources, and partnerships. These efforts aim at not only facilitating access to jobs, but also addressing the imbalance of power within the tech industry. Code2040's initiatives include direct service programs and community building efforts to support Black and Latinx technologists, leaders, and innovators. The organization collaborates with tech-driven companies to enhance the recruitment, retention, and advancement of underrepresented talent, with a broader goal of dismantling structural racism in the tech sector.
